1. The controller consists of a rotatable fiber squeezer and two fiber clamps. Stress birefringence is created within SM fibers (single-mode fibers) by mechanically extruding the fiber. This is equivalent to a variable rotating waveplate whose polarization angle and retardation can be adjusted continuously and individually to convert any input polarization state to the desired output polarization state.
2. The optical fiber can be directly clamped into this device, compatible with Ø250µm bare fiber or fiber with Ø900µm compact buffer layer. Installation does not require removing the connection at either end, nor does it require the use of any tools.
3. The bottom groove has 4 M6 countersunk holes and 2 30.6*10.3mm countersunk holes for fixing on a breadboard or optical table.
