Optical commonly used thread size standard

This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter. Description

(1) The right-angle adjustable cage mount provides ±4° pitch and tilt adjustments for the optical components installed in the mounting plate at an average horizontal position of 45°. The pitch adjustment is actuated by three 100 TPI ("TPI": Threads per Inch) adjustment screws to achieve smooth, high-resolution movement. Two of these adjustment plates contain detachable knobs, while the third must be adjusted with a 2mm hex wrench or balldriver.

(2) The mounting plate is compatible with Ø2" (Ø50.8mm) optical components, and the thickness of the mounting lens should not be thinner than 4mm. Use a 2mm hexagon wrench or a balldriver to fix the optics with the nylon head screws on the side of the mount. The side design does not limit the thickness of the optical element to be installed, and even if a cage rod or lens tube is installed on the mount, the installed optical element can still be operated.

(3) There are SM2 (2.035"-40) threaded holes at the port, and the adjusting seat has 8 4-40 screw holes, which are compatible with our PCM-S cage rods. Their spacing matches our 60mm cage system. These right-angle cage mounts are effectively connected, adjusted and locked in the cage system (8 4-40 screws are included with this link).

(4) There is an M4/M6 threaded hole on each side, which can be installed with Ø12mm post and Ø1" post for free space construction;
