Optical commonly used thread size standard
This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter. The specific dimensions are as follows:
►Can install Ø 1" optics up to 12.2mm thick;
►Maximum displacement stroke ±2.5mm;
►SM1 (1.035"-40) internal thread, compatible with Ø1" SM1 lens tubes;
►There are 4-40 threaded holes on the front and rear plates, with a spacing of 30*30mm;
►Compatible with 30mm cage system;
(1) The CXY1E series mobile platform provides a stroke of ±2.5mm and has two driving methods: adjusting screw and vernier micrometer. CXY1EM uses SM13 vernier micrometer as the driving mode, 0.5mm/rev, scale 100μm (horizontal),vernier scale10μm(vertical). The CXY1ES uses the adjusting screw as the driving method, with 0.25mm increments per revolution, and the adjuster's locking set screw is adjusted with the attached 2mm hexagon wrench.
(2) The SM1 (1.035"-40) thread in the center of the translation frame can use two attached CSK3 retaining rings to install Ø1" optics with a thickness of no more than 12.2mm. The translation stage is designed to connect a Ø1" SM1 lens tube and The 30mm cage system is assembled with a 3.5mm deep internal thread on the other side of the mounting seat, which is used to install SM1 threaded sleeves.
(3) The front and rear panels each have 4 -40 threaded holes, which are compatible with our Ø6mm support rods and are used in the assembly of 30mm cage systems. When the CXY1E series adjustment frame needs to be temporarily added to the cage system, it can be used with the SCB1 cage rod adapter, which provides a high degree of flexibility for building the system.
(4) There are 3 M4 screw holes on the lower surface of the adjusting frame, which can be directly installed on our Ø12mm post for use in free space.
