Optical commonly used thread size standard

This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter. A: The center of the CSJ-13 threaded cage plate has a SM05 (0.535-40) threaded hole, which is compatible with Ø1 inch lens tubes. The central threaded hole can also be used to directly mount Ø1/2" lenses with a maximum thickness of 0.2" (5mm).

This product comes with two SM05 snap rings. If you need more snap rings, please purchase them separately.

B: For more convenience, the bottom surface of the cage plate contains an 8-32 (M4) threaded hole for the application of post installation.

C: The 6mm cage rod can be installed in the M6 through hole. Each cage rod through hole has a Ø3mm fastening screw on the side, which can be fixed by a 5/64 inch (2.0mm) hexagon wrench.
