Optical commonly used thread size standard

This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter.

(4) The lens tube is very suitable for building compact optical components. The Ø2" lens tube is used to install one or more optical components (shown in the schematic diagram of the beam expander). The optical components are separated and fixed by a snap ring, which is positioned at the required depth in the lens tube(2 snap rings are included. If you need more snap rings, you need to purchase additional snap rings separately).

(5) These Ø2" stacked lens tubes can quickly and easily build compact optical components. There is no lip on one end of the internally threaded lens tube, so the optical components inside can be operated from both ends. If you want to connect these lens tubes end to end, use lens tube connectors, which can directly join all SM2 (2.035"-40) threaded components, which can flexibly build complex optomechanical components.
