Optical commonly used thread size standard
This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter. The specific dimensions are as follows:
Characteristic
►Convenient and easy to operate optical components, can be operated without disassembly;
►It can be rotated 360° to open or close the dust-proof sliding cover, which is beneficial to protect the optical components;
►Compatible with SM1 (1.035"-40) threaded components;
►Compatible with 30mm cage system;
►Compatible with Ø1" or Ø25mm optical components;
Description
(1)The lens tube is very suitable for building a compact optical system that shields the light path. The CSA-V series sleeve has two openings, which can easily and quickly build complex optical assemblies and adjust optical components without disassembly. Use the included 2 CSK3 retaining rings to place the optical element into the desired depth of the lens tube, and then fix it with the second retaining ring.
(2)The lens tube contains a sliding cover that can rotate 360°, and the dust cover can be opened or closed by rotating it in any direction. It can prevent stray light from entering the system, as well as dust and pollution.
(3)The lens tube can be manually adjusted from the side opening, and can be operated without disassembly. It is easy to operate the optical components without using a snap ring wrench.
(4) There is a 3mm external thread at one end of the casing, which can directly connect the casings. And it is directly connected with the threaded components of SM1 (1.035"-40), which provides flexibility for assembling complex optomechanics.
