Optical commonly used thread size standard

This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter. Lens tubes are very suitable for building compact optical cage systems. The sleeve can be used to install one or more optical components. With our snap ring, you can easily set the depth of the snap ring to separate and fix the optical components. These stackable lens tubes are compatible with SM1 (1.035"-40) threaded components. Lens tubes with a height of 8mm or more come with a retaining ring (CSA-04/CSA-05 does not ship with a retaining ring, and is mainly used as an extension tube). You can also purchase additional snap rings to build the system.

One end of the sleeve has an SM1 thread protruding with a height of 3mm. In addition to stacking compatible SM 1 threaded components, it is also compatible with a C-mount adapter, which can be used to transfer a CCD camera interface.
